Assistant Professor, University of Vienna
Michael Sedlmair is currently working as an assistant professor at the University of Vienna. Together with Prof. Torsten Möller, he is co-leading the Visualization and Data Analysis Group in the Computer Science department. Michael works on research topics at the intersection of data analysis, visualization, and human-computer interaction, with a specific focus on high-dimensional data analysis. He worked on a variety of interdisciplinary visualization and data analysis projects in different application areas, for instance, with automotive engineering at BMW. Michael authored more than 20 peer-reviewed articles, which led to three best paper awards. Before moving to Vienna in 2013, he spent 2.5 years at the University of British Columbia, Canada, working with Prof. Tamara Munzner. Michael got his PhD from the University of Munich in 2010.
