Stefan Gindl studied Medical Informatics at the Vienna University of Technology, where he is also currently finishing his PhD on “Context-aware Sentiment Analysis: a Machine-Learning Approach”. In his six years as a researcher and lecturer in the department of New Media Technology at MODUL University Vienna, he was the author of scientific publications at international conferences and in journals, such as IEEE Intelligent Systems. He co-founded the Interest Group on German Sentiment Analysis, a working group of the German Society for Computational Linguistics and Technology, and organized internationally renowned workshops in his field. As an avid programmer, who is fascinated by nature-inspired algorithms, he currently explores hot topics in artificial intelligence, such as Deep Learning and Extreme Learning Machines. Stefan is currently setting up his own company in the area of predictive analytics.
