As Runtastic, one of the leaders in mobile health and fitness with 100+ Mio downloads worldwide, started its business intelligence department in 2013 there were not much more than a few spreadsheets that consolidated vital business data from various sources. Within the last two years, as the company evolved into one of the major players in its market, the BI department constantly developed new ways to provide faster and better insights into relevant business data. With the implementation of a data warehouse a big step towards increased data quality, self-service BI and advanced analytics, for both product and marketing development was taken. To be able to stay ahead of the game in such an innovative and fast-changing environment the next projects are already planed for 2015. A strong move into data-science-based product development and marketing automatization puts the user in the focus, in order to deliver the best possible services for the individual needs of each athlete while taking the data-driven spirit at Runtastic even to the next level.
